B's Finally Give Lysell his NHL Opportunity
The 22-year-old former first round pick will get some games on Boston's extended road trip out West as they play out the strong this season.
It isn’t exactly a white flag being waved with a few weeks left in the regular season, but the Bruins are bringing in some young players to get a look at them. One of them, Michael Callahan, has done an admirable job on the back end and might be a better option than Parker Wotherspoon and Ian Mitchell, who have struggled on the back end over the last couple of weeks.
The other is 22-year-old Fabian Lysell, the former 2021 first round pick that’s got one NHL game on his resume to this point and has had a slow development path at the AHL level over the last few years. Lysell has averaged 13 goals and 40 points in his three seasons for the P-Bruins but has taken a little bit of a step back this season after 15 goals and 50 points in 56 games in Providence last season.
