Bruins Tweaking Fourth Line Center Duties

Beecher, Boqvist combine fourth line center duties to match best of both players

BRIGHTON, MA – It’s getting to the time of the season where the Boston Bruins are going to find the best on-ice solutions they can for playoff situations where the small details absolutely matter. Some of that was related to the B’s bringing young center Johnny Beecher back up from the AHL several weeks ago to give Boston a left shot center able to win faceoffs in important points in close games.

That has noticeably worked in the last couple of games while topping 13 minutes of ice time and adding a goal in last weekend’s win over the Flyers. Beecher has also won 13-of-19 draws (68 percent) in the last two games against the Canadiens and Flyers and is at 54.6 percent on draws during his first NHL season.
