Boston Bruins Roster Battles Tightening In Camp
B's Bubble players are getting their last few chances to nail down a few roster spots up for grabs
With NHL opening night quickly coming up next week for the Boston Bruins, the battles for roster spots are tightening up for the Black and Gold. The biggest shoe to drop, to date, was over the weekend when the B’s released veteran winger Alex Chiasson from his pro tryout at camp after he simply didn’t impress with his opportunities.
“I think [Chiasson] came up short. It’s just that a lot of guys are having really good camps and it comes down to numbers,” said Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery.
Instead, Danton Heinen stepped up and scored a goal in one of his games while enjoying a strong overall game against the Flyers last Friday night. At this point it’s looking like a very real possibility that Heinen is going to win a roster spot with the Black and Gold coming out of training camp.
