Boston Bruins Off On Right Foot With Hall Move
Don Sweeney started off his B's cap-saving efforts with a Taylor Hall trade that works on multiple fronts for the team
Everybody knew a salary dump was coming and even still Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney managed to execute a trade that actually helped his team while also clearing $6 million in salary cap space.
Sure, the Boston Bruins had to trade away Taylor Hall and wave goodbye to the overwhelming roster depth he helped provide as a third line left wing with the talent to have been a Hart Trophy winner and a former No. 1 overall pick.
Certainly, there were some Boston Bruins fans that were not particularly happy about seeing Hall leave town, or downright sad about it.
But we’re also talking about a 31-year-old left wing that had just 16 goals and 36 points in 61 games last season while once again battling through injuries during the season. Those injuries also played into an odd situation with the Boston Bruins at the end of the season where there seemed to be conflicting reports about Hall’s readiness to return ahead of his actual return date.
