Boston Bruins Getting Poitras Top-6 Look in Forward Lines Shakeup
Brad Marchand and Matt Poitras are paired in practice ahead of the B's West Coast trip through California
BRIGHTON, MA – It didn’t feel like it was going to take that long before 19-year-old Matt Poitras was going to get his look on the top-6, and lo and behold it only took two NHL games into the regular season.
The wunderkind center more than held his own as a third line center with Morgan Geekie and Trent Frederic on other side of him, and now he’ll get a chance riding shotgun with Brad Marchand on his left side with Geekie staying on the right. That will leave Trent Frederic, Charlie Coyle and James van Riemsdyk as a big, heavy third line that could take up some checking line assignments against other team’s best lines.
